Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 23, 2026

1. Overview

A1 builds AI tools designed around privacy, local processing, and reduced dependence on centralized data centers. This Privacy Policy explains how A1 collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data when you use our website, applications, software, and related services.

This policy applies to personal data we collect from or about individual users of A1. It does not apply to data we process on behalf of business customers under separate agreements, if any.

2. Personal data we collect

We collect personal data in the following ways.

Personal data you provide. We may collect information you provide directly, including:

  • Account information, such as your name, email address, account credentials, profile information, and settings.
  • Payment information and transaction history if you purchase paid features. Payment details may be processed by a payment provider.
  • User content, such as prompts, files, messages, images, audio, feedback, and other information you submit to A1 features.
  • Communication information, such as messages you send to support, survey responses, or other correspondence with us.
  • Other information you choose to provide, including information used to verify age, identity, or eligibility where required.

Personal data we receive from your use of A1. When you visit, use, or interact with A1, we may receive log data, usage data, device information, general location information based on IP address, diagnostics, crash reports, and cookie or local storage information.

Personal data from other sources. We may receive information from service providers, security partners, payment processors, analytics providers, or publicly available sources, where permitted by law.

3. Local processing

A1 is designed so certain features can run on your device. Where a feature is local-only, prompts and outputs may be processed on your device instead of being sent to A1 servers. Local processing can still store information on your device, such as cache, local storage, downloaded models, settings, history, or files you save.

If you enable online features, account sync, collaboration, support, diagnostics, hosted models, or networked compute, related information may be transmitted so those features can work.

4. How we use personal data

We use personal data for the following purposes:

  • To provide, analyze, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot A1.
  • To respond to your prompts and operate the features you choose to use.
  • To improve and develop A1, including new privacy, local processing, and safety features.
  • To personalize your experience, remember settings, and maintain preferences.
  • To communicate with you about A1, support requests, security, product changes, and account matters.
  • To process payments, subscriptions, refunds, and tax obligations if paid features are offered.
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, misuse, illegal activity, and security incidents.
  • To comply with law and protect the rights, privacy, safety, or property of A1, users, and others.

We may aggregate or de-identify personal data so that it no longer identifies you and use it for research, analytics, product improvement, and safety.

5. Content and model improvement

We do not sell your prompts or outputs. We do not use private prompts, uploaded files, or private outputs to train models unless you opt in, submit feedback, make the content public, or use a feature that clearly says it may be used for improvement.

You may be able to control whether Content is used to improve A1 through product settings. Turning off improvement uses may limit our ability to tailor A1 to your use case.

6. Disclosure of personal data

We may disclose personal data in the following circumstances:

  • Vendors and service providers. We may share information with providers that help us host, secure, operate, analyze, support, communicate, process payments, or improve A1.
  • Affiliates. We may share information with entities under common control with A1, consistent with this policy.
  • Business transfers. If A1 is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information to comply with law, respond to legal process, enforce our terms, prevent fraud or abuse, protect safety, or defend legal claims.
  • Other users and third parties you choose. If you share content, connect services, publish output, or interact with third-party integrations, your information may be shared according to your actions and those third parties' policies.

We may also share aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify you.

7. Retention

We retain personal data only as long as reasonably necessary to provide A1, operate our business, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, prevent abuse, and enforce our terms. Retention periods depend on the type of data, the feature used, your settings, legal requirements, and security needs.

We may retain certain information for longer where necessary for fraud prevention, safety, legal compliance, financial records, dispute resolution, or audit logs. Local data stored on your device may remain until you delete it from the device or browser.

8. Data controls

A1 may provide controls that let you manage personal data and how it is used, including options to delete or export data, clear local history, manage cookies, adjust model-improvement settings, disable memory or personalization features, and delete your account where accounts are available.

Some settings apply only to hosted or account-based features. Local data may need to be deleted directly from your device, browser, or app storage.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent and to appeal a decision about your request.

To protect your information, we may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law, but we may require proof of authorization.

10. Accuracy of AI output about you

AI systems generate responses by predicting likely outputs from context. Output may be inaccurate, including output about real people. If you believe A1 generated inaccurate personal information about you, you may contact us to request review, correction, or removal where required by law and technically feasible.

11. Children

A1 is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below that age. Users under 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child provided personal data to A1, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No internet or electronic storage system is fully secure, so you should take care when deciding what information to provide.

13. Cookies and similar technologies

We may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to operate A1, secure sessions, remember preferences, understand usage, and improve the product. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect some features.

14. Additional U.S. state disclosures

Some U.S. state privacy laws require additional disclosures. Depending on how you use A1, we may collect identifiers, commercial information, internet or network activity information, device information, approximate location information, communications, account information, and user content.

We use and disclose these categories for the purposes described in this policy, including providing A1, improving features, security, fraud prevention, support, payment processing, legal compliance, and business operations.

We do not sell personal data. If we ever share personal data for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising, we will provide any legally required notice and opt-out controls.

15. International transfers

Your personal data may be processed in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have data protection laws different from your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version and effective date on this page, unless another type of notice is required by law.

17. Data controller and contact

The controller responsible for personal data under this policy is A1 or the A1 entity that provides the services in your region. Questions, concerns, or privacy requests can be submitted through the support or contact channel listed on the A1 website.
