Terms of Use

Effective date: May 23, 2026

1. Introduction

Thank you for using A1. These Terms of Use apply to your access to and use of A1, including our website, software, applications, local AI features, hosted features, documentation, and related services. By using A1, you agree to these terms.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information. It is not part of these terms, but it is important and you should read it.

2. Who we are

A1 builds AI tools designed around local processing, privacy, and reducing dependence on centralized data centers. Our services may include features that run on your device, features that connect to other user-controlled nodes, and optional online services.

3. Registration and access

You must be at least 13 years old or the minimum age required in your country to consent to use A1. If you are under 18, you must have permission from your parent or legal guardian.

If you create an account, you must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. If you use A1 for an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms on its behalf.

4. Using A1

Subject to these terms, you may access and use A1 for personal or internal business purposes. You must comply with all applicable laws and any policies, documentation, or feature-specific rules we make available.

You may not use A1 for illegal, harmful, or abusive activity. For example, you may not:

  • Use A1 in a way that infringes, misappropriates, or violates anyone's rights.
  • Modify, copy, sell, lease, or distribute A1 except as allowed by us or applicable open-source licenses.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or discover non-public source code, models, algorithms, or systems, except where the law prohibits this restriction.
  • Programmatically extract data or output at scale without permission.
  • Represent AI-generated output as human-generated when that would be misleading.
  • Interfere with, overload, or bypass rate limits, safety measures, or security protections.
  • Use A1 to create malware, facilitate abuse, or make decisions that unlawfully affect a person's rights or opportunities.

5. Software and third-party services

A1 may include downloadable software that updates automatically. Some software may include open-source components governed by their own licenses.

A1 may also connect to third-party software, models, tools, networks, websites, or services. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.

6. Content

You may provide prompts, files, messages, images, audio, or other materials to A1 ("Input") and receive responses generated by A1 ("Output"). Input and Output together are "Content."

You are responsible for your Content, including making sure you have the rights needed to provide Input and that your Content complies with these terms and the law.

As between you and A1, you retain ownership of Input. To the extent permitted by law, you own Output generated for you. Because AI systems can generate similar responses for different users, Output may not be unique.

You grant A1 the rights needed to provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the services, subject to your settings and our Privacy Policy. Where a feature is clearly local-only, your Content may be processed on your device instead of being sent to A1.

7. Accuracy

Artificial intelligence is probabilistic and can produce Output that is incomplete, incorrect, outdated, offensive, or not appropriate for your situation. You should not rely on Output as a sole source of truth or as a substitute for professional advice.

You must evaluate Output for accuracy and suitability before using or sharing it. You must not use Output about a person for decisions that could have a legal or material impact on that person, such as decisions about credit, education, employment, housing, insurance, medical care, legal rights, or access to essential services.

8. Our intellectual property

A1 and its affiliates own all rights, title, and interest in the services, including our software, designs, trademarks, logos, and documentation, except for your Content and third-party materials. These terms do not give you ownership of A1.

9. Feedback

We welcome feedback, ideas, and suggestions. If you provide feedback, you agree that we may use it without restriction or compensation to you.

10. Paid features

If A1 offers paid features, you must provide accurate billing information and a valid payment method. Subscriptions may renew automatically until canceled. You are responsible for applicable taxes. Payments are non-refundable except where required by law or stated otherwise at purchase.

We may change prices from time to time. If a subscription price increases, we will provide reasonable advance notice and give you an opportunity to cancel before the new price applies.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using A1 at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access or delete your account if we determine that you violated these terms, created risk or harm, used A1 unlawfully, or if we must do so to comply with law.

If you believe your account was suspended or terminated in error, you may contact us to request review.

12. Discontinuation of services

We may change, limit, or discontinue all or part of A1. If we discontinue a paid service, we will provide reasonable notice and, where appropriate, a refund for prepaid unused service.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

A1 is provided "as is" and "as available." Except to the extent prohibited by law, we and our affiliates and licensors make no warranties, express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, with respect to A1, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, satisfactory quality, non-infringement, quiet enjoyment, availability, accuracy, or reliability.

You accept that your use of Output is at your own risk and that Output should not be used as the sole source of truth or as a substitute for professional advice.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, A1 and its affiliates, licensors, suppliers, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other losses, even if we have been advised of the possibility of those damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to A1 or these terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the service giving rise to the claim during the 12 months before the liability arose or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

15. Indemnity

If you are a business or organization, to the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify and hold harmless A1, our affiliates, and our personnel from costs, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from third-party claims related to your use of A1, your Content, or your violation of these terms.

16. Dispute resolution

Before either of us starts a formal legal proceeding, we agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting the other party and giving a reasonable opportunity to respond. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief or bringing a qualifying claim in small claims court.

To the extent permitted by law, disputes must be brought on an individual basis and not as a plaintiff or class member in a class, consolidated, or representative action.

17. Copyright complaints

If you believe content on A1 infringes your copyright, send a notice that includes your contact information, a description of the copyrighted work, the location of the allegedly infringing material, a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized, and a statement that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act for the copyright owner.

18. General terms

You may not assign these terms without our consent. We may assign these terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver.

You must comply with applicable export control and trade laws. You may not use A1 in or for the benefit of countries, organizations, or individuals subject to applicable sanctions or restrictions.

These terms are the entire agreement between you and A1 regarding the services and supersede prior agreements about the same subject.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our services, technology, laws, or safety practices change. If we make changes that materially affect your rights, we will provide reasonable notice. If you do not agree to updated terms, you must stop using A1.

20. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where A1 is organized, without regard to conflict of law rules, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Questions about these terms can be sent through the support or contact channel listed on the A1 website.
